In May, the Las Pataguas packing plant operated by Maxagro, a ChileCarne member company located in the O’Higgins Region, was visited by a technical delegation from the Dominican Republic focused on food quality and safety. The purpose of this inspection was to audit and evaluate the plant’s operating conditions and regulatory compliance, as part of the process of renewing the health authorization that allows the company to continue exporting meat products to the Caribbean country.
The audit was accompanied by professionals from Chile’s Agricultural and Livestock Service (SAG) and included an exhaustive review of safety protocols, traceability, waste management, animal welfare, infrastructure, and operating conditions.
The results of the audit will be released in another 3 to 6 months, which will confirm the company’s authorization to export to the Dominican market.
The auditors highlighted the professionalism and commitment of the local team as key factors in satisfactorily passing the evaluation. This recognition reflects the company’s culture of operational excellence and its ability to maintain high quality standards, ongoing improvements in sustainability, and innovations in biosecurity, animal welfare and circular economy.
