In its latest Integrated Report, Agrosuper announced a significant 16.7% reduction in its carbon footprint, equivalent to 50,439 tons of CO₂ in one year. This achievement is part of the company’s sustainability strategy, focused on creating more efficient and environmentally friendly operations.
The reduction was achieved by incorporating new technologies, improving energy efficiency, and updating processes at various stages of production. These actions reflect the company’s commitment to responsible resource management and mitigating the environmental impact of its operations.
The report also highlights progress toward a cleaner energy mix, with 69% of Agrosuper’s energy currently sourced from renewable sources. This transformation has been essential in reducing direct and indirect greenhouse gas emissions.
Additionally, the company has strengthened its water management, reusing and recycling 37.4% of the water used in production. With these advancements, Agrosuper reaffirms its commitment to sustainable production that actively contributes to the development of the food industry in the face of the climate change challenge.
