The 27th Central American and Caribbean Poultry Conference, one of the leading industry events in the region, was held in Panama from September 10 to 12 to analyze the challenges and opportunities facing the poultry industry. Organized by the Central American and Caribbean Poultry Federation (FEDAVICAC) and the National Poultry Association of Panama (ANAVIP), the event was attended by international experts, producers, leading companies, and authorities from more than 28 countries.
The Congress featured more than 8,000 m² of exhibition space and 180 stands showcasing cutting-edge technology, providing a platform for presenting innovations, exchanging experiences, and discussing the future of the poultry supply chain. The scientific agenda included more than 40 meetings on key topics such as emerging disease control, nutrition, sustainability, animal welfare, and biosecurity.
Carolina Larraín, head of Poultry Health, attended on behalf of ChileCarne. She was able to strengthen ties with international leaders and share Chile’s experiences in animal health, safety, and welfare. At the end of the conference, Larraín highlighted the strategic vision that the meeting had provided: “In the coming years, the poultry industry will face global challenges with new tools. Innovation, artificial intelligence, and data analysis not only optimize production but are also central to guaranteeing health, biosecurity, animal welfare, and sustainability. This conference was a great chance to learn about the latest initiatives in poultry health, management, welfare, and other topics, and to see the solutions that the region is putting in place.”
The Conference reaffirmed its importance as a biennial event for the Latin American poultry industry. The next meeting will be held in 2027, at a venue to be determined by FEDAVICAC. Through its participation, ChileCarne reaffirms its commitment to innovation and sustainable development, promoting the exchange of knowledge and the adoption of best practices in health, biosecurity, and animal welfare.
