Coexca, in collaboration with Solarity, has inaugurated the largest solar carport in the Maule Region, located at its plant in the Maule district. This solar infrastructure, integrated into its production operations, consists of more than 1,700 photovoltaic panels, providing an installed capacity of 1,075 MWp.
The project serves a dual purpose: protecting vehicles and generating clean energy, thereby helping to reduce the company’s carbon footprint and advance its sustainability goals. This solution underscores Coexca’s commitment to energy efficiency in the agri-food sector while optimizing space by incorporating renewable energy generation into a high-traffic area.
The inauguration was attended by diplomatic and local authorities, as well as executives from both companies, who highlighted the project’s positive environmental and social impacts, along with its contribution to a more responsible industry.
This milestone solidifies Coexca’s position as a leader in sustainable practices within the meat industry and establishes the solar carport as a scalable solution for large energy consumers, aligning with Chile’s progress toward a cleaner and more decentralized energy mix.
