The Superintendency of Environment (SMA) held the hybrid seminar “Technology in Environmental Air Monitoring: Advances in the Atmospheric Monitoring System,” at the Bicentenario Building in Santiago.
The event brought together environmental specialists and representatives from the public and private sectors to present the latest developments of the Atmospheric Monitoring System (SISAT) and the new tools for emissions monitoring and surveillance. The SMA laid out its strategy on atmospheric emissions, along with a new SISAT feature to strengthen regulatory management and improve the traceability of real-time data.
The strategy includes new pollutant emission standards, air pollution prevention and remediation plans, and the implementation of a robust monitoring, reporting, and verification (MRV) mechanism, with both national and local scope. For regulated users, the obligations are clear: higher traceability and an increase in the number of surveys and reports available.
Daniela Álvarez, ChileCarne’s Sustainability Manager, highlighted the opportunity provided by these types of events to keep up with regulatory requirements and keep strengthening the sector’s commitment to environmentally responsible production.
