The International Pig Veterinary Society (IPVS) Congress was held from June 21st to 24th and ChileCarne was represented by its Business Manager, Rodrigo Castañón, and the Head of Animal Health and Welfare, María Ignacia Apel.

In its 26th edition, this globally renowned congress was held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The world-class scientific and technical meeting focuses on pig farming and its related sectors.

The attendees included veterinarians from different parts of the world as well as producers, associations, laboratories, and researchers who took part in conferences and exhibitions related to pig farm biosecurity, production strategies, and innovations in this sector. Additionally, the IPVS included discussions on how to tackle the current and future challenges of the pig sector given the global issues faced by the industry.

One of the keynote speakers was the researcher José Manuel Sánchez-Vizcaíno, as well as other relevant guests. The main topics addressed at IPVS 2022 were ASF, antimicrobial resistance, biosecurity, innovation in the industry, and relevant pathogens such as PRRS.
