EXPORT
FACILITATION PILLAR

WHAT DOES THIS INVOLVE?

ChileCarne’s work in this area consists of supporting its exporting member companies, in coordination with government authorities, companies, importers, and trade associations, both domestically and in destination markets.

WHAT IS ITS OBJECTIVE?

To facilitate exports and ensure a fluid trade between exporting companies and other countries. This support includes health authorizations to export to other markets, deepen access, maintain permissions, negotiate health and tariff requirements, dispute settlement, and promotion in primary destinations through the ChilePork brand.

WHO IS INVOLVED?

ChileCarne and its exporting member companies set priority markets on a yearly basis and together with local authorities such as the Agricultural and Livestock Service (SAG), the Undersecretariat for International Economic Affairs (SUBREI), ProChile (the Chilean Exports Promotion Bureau), etc., implement the necessary actions to meet these goals

HOW DOES IT WORK?

For health authorizations, the work starts with ChileCarne and its members setting priority markets, then communicating their interest to the Ministry of Agriculture, SAG, and SUBREI in order to begin the review of the health and regulatory requirements, filling out questionnaires, organizing on-site audits by third countries, contacting potential importers, and organizing and participating in public-private missions to the markets of interest. Once authorization is obtained, the association’s work continues to maintain the market and solve any potential customs issues at the origin or destination.

At the same time, efforts are made to improve tariff conditions in the various markets by participating in meetings and side-rooms organized by SUBREI.

One of ChileCarne’s main tasks on this front is to help implement long-term solutions to make the export process more efficient. Examples of this are the implementation of the electronic animal health certification system, the negotiation and implementation of the electronic animal health and origin certification, and the implementation of the protocol for remote cargo verification and certification.
